Political choice: This is a major issue with the political right wing; a group that constantly says governmental interference is bad and wants to eliminate it for business, but on the other hand desparately wants the government to interfere in your personal and private lives. This includes their anti-female stance on birth control which has some religious undertones as well. It would infringe on personal rights.

High impact: I usually tell my patients "if it hurts, then stop". It is important to exercise in pregnancy to maintain your health. Don't take up new strenuous activities, but you can continue your current activity level until it becomes uncomfortable. Avoid high-impact exercises after the 1st trimester and any contact sport or activity with a high-risk of falls to protect your pregnancy. Try swimming or yoga.

Too much hype: I think there is too much hype and hysteria about this. Sushi, soft cheeses, hotdogs, lunch meats, fish in general...All are ok to eat. You want to eat fresh food, not heavily processed. Preferably your dairy is pasteurized. You want to eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

Several: Pennyroyal, raspberry leaf, blessed thistle, aconite, slippery elm, tansy, many, many others. Consult with someone who knows before taking any medicinal herbs during pregnancy. If, however, it's something you find in the a standard kitchen spice rack, it's probably fine.
