Several issues: It is common to have breast symptoms in the second half of the cycle. Also taking a lot of caffeine from pop or coffee or chocolate or energy drinks can cause breast swelling or pain. Hormones or eating a lot of soy can do it too. If it goes away on its own that is reassuring.

If this only occurs : Prior to or during your period - look at otc meds for periods containing diuretics. If it happens regularly this could mean t you are wearing the incorrect bra size or a design that isn't right for you. Up to 85% of us women are wearing an incorrect cup or band size (or both). Encourage you to go to specialty bra stop for fitting & consultation. Having the correct support will add to comfort.

Fibrocystic: The breast are fatty tissue and glands. Sometimes the glands form small cysts that can be very tender. This varies due to hormone change during the cycle. Classically caffeine can make this worse.
