Many reasons: People differ in the reasons they become depressed. Some reasons include relationship problems, stress, work-related issues, academic problems, abuse, etc. In dealing with your depression it will be important to understand your unique struggles. A psychologist can help you with this. They could also help you get connected to a psychiatrist if medication might be needed. Be well!

if your depressed mood is starting to interfere with your ability to concentrate, enjoy activities/hobbies, maintain a healthy appetite, have healthy relationships or have a satisfying life in general you need to visit your doctor. If you are having any thoughts of ending your life see a doctor immediately.
