Allergy and Immunology 49 years experience
Irritant Reaction: This is not an allergic reaction. This is an irritant reaction due to the fluids injected by the mosquito. There is no accepted immunotherapy (allergy shots) protocol for mosquito sensitivity. There is also no fda license vaccine for this problem. The only solution is avoidance and antihistamines for itching. If infected, a primary care physician may provide antibiotics if indicated.
Dr. Stevan Cordas

Mospuitos: Mosquitos in africa may transmit serious systemic or generalized diseases that are far more serious than the local irritation. If you start to feel bad in general - especially if you have chills or fevers, contact your doctor immediately.
