can any doctor diagnose herpes of the eye or only an opthamologist?

I went to opthamologist burned the surface layer of my eyes also inhaled fumes but don't know what kind of doc to go to I am a female courrier and had a box a phamaldehide and bx mustard seed and hot spices from india that together fumed
