does cabbage cause gas?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Heidi Fowler
24 years experience Psychiatry
Yes: Cabbage can cause gas because of the fiber content ; because it contains raffinose (a complex sugar) which is broken down in the large intestine. This break down process leads to gas production.
