Rib dislocation: Could be a rib dislocation or possibly costochondritis (inflammation of where the ribs and cartilage meet). I would recommend seeing a osteopathic physician to see if they can correct the rib issue. Many times they can place the rib back in proper alignment. Make sure you see a do that does manipulation as their main practice, they are the best.

Depends: If you are having pain in the mid back and/or rib cage area, you should contact your primary doctor. If the pain is severe or if you feel winded (cannot catch your breath), consider going to the nearest emergency room or urgent care center.

Kidney : Multiple causes- kidney cyst, abscess around kidney, trauma and hematoma; also be due to non -kidney causes- muscle, ribs, if on right side liver abscess. List is extensive and may be overwhelming and so if pain is constant, severe, or getting worse need to check with your doctor.

Maybe: It depends on how long it has been there. Does the pain go down your leg? I would start with rest and moist heat. If it persists more than a few days see your pcp. Nsaids and muscle relaxers may be all that you need.

Many things: This problem mandates a real-time (face-to-face) meeting with a doctor. A history has to be taken along with a examination as well as labs and other tests. Only after all this will your doctor be in a position to tell you what's wrong and what needs to be done to help you.
