Possibly: Any change in bowels can trigger concern for colon cancer. However, character changes to one's bowel movements can also be do to dietary changes and or other intestinal problems. These symptoms may warrant a colonoscopy.

Rarely: Blood or no symptoms is more likely. Certain polyps can secrete mucous. See a gastroenterologist.
