Seek immediate care: While it is possible to certainly have an ovarian cyst while menstruating, the onset of the bleeding 11 days earlier may not be your normal menstrual period. With history of having tubal ligation and complaint of severe pain with nausea, it is important to seek evaluation urgently at a hospital er to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.

Maybe blood cyst: When you ovulate (and from what you describe that would have likely occurred three days prior to the menses) you release an egg through the capsule of the ovary and sometimes can rupture a small blood vessel. This vessel can - just like banging your thumbnail with a hammer - bleed into the ovary and stretch the ovary to creat severe pain and stop the ovary from producing hormones: menses starts.
