EDS, Hypermobility: Eds, hypermobility type, formerly type iii, is the least severe of the types of eds. In most cases, the gene mutation is unknown and unmapped. I have not been able to find any reports of patients with eds hypermobility type who had a pneumothorax, so i suspect that this is not seen at an increased rate compared to other people with eds. Anyone, though, can have a pneumothorax.
