With alcoholics in my fam is it wise to avoid drinking? i have friends who say a drink won't hurt. nearly 40 and have never had a drink.

Be wise: In the last year, i met a man who had his first drink in his 40's and became addicted within months. He had a family history of alcoholism also. Every alcoholic began with a single drink.

I would tell you ...: Yes it is wise for someone to not begin drinking alcohol when they have a family history of drug or alcohol dependence.
