A 42-year-old female asked:

What is vitamin e.Oil. Used for?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. Donald Colantino
Internal Medicine 61 years experience
On skin: Vit e oil on skin is used as an antioxidant which neutralizes substances on the skin that cause dryness and damage collagen in your skin. It can be used to treat minor sunburn. Taking vit e by mouth is also felt to combat chromosomal damage and thus cellular damage in the body and premature aging of the skin. You can make your own vit e oil by adding a tablespoon of olive oil to a few vit e caps.
