How do you take care of babies umblical cord when it has fallen off?

Clean and observe: The cord stump will usually separate at a week or so after birth. There is often some bleeding initially, and the area can ooze serum like debris. Cleaning the area with thin soapy water and treating the site with rubbing alcohol to promote drying will often speed the healing.Treat it as you would any scratch, by keeping it clean and using the alcohol.The area should stop oozing within a day or 2.
