Pregnancy test: Most home pregnancy tests show reliable results within a week of a missed period. Some are able to detect pregnancy before the missed period. Serum tests from your doctor are the most sensitive.

Pregnancy test: For a urine pregnancy test to be more accurate you need to wait 3-5 days after the period was supposed to start. If the test is negative and the period doesn't come, check another pregnancy test 4 days later.

Missed period: You can take a pregnancy test anytime after the day you should have had a period. Best wishes!

After missed period: Today's home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal spotting, or medications. A test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after possible conception) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a negative result may be due to testing too early, such as less than 2 weeks after conception.

Missed period : Take one when you miss your period first thing in the morning.

In am: In the am. After the day of expected menstrual flow. Flow your home pregnancy tests own instructions.

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctor's office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

Pregnancy Testing: The first urine of the morning after a period is missed.
Dr. Rifat Naghmi

Pregnancy test: 2 weeks after missing your period.

When pregnant: I am sort of kidding -- but in general, a blood test is positive about 7-10 days after conception, while a urine test is a couple weeks later. If you think you may be pregnant, about 2 - 3 weeks after your last menstrual period is a potential positive. Good luck.

First morning urine: Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about two weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
