Bananas are slippery: Just like the cartoons show, bananas are slippery. One safer way to cut them may be with a wire cheese cutter. There are gloves you can wear to protect your fingers from knives, this may help. Dull knives are also more prone to slips, as you need to bear down on them and this often causes them to slide. But look into gloves if this happens often.
