Yes, of course: After all it's surgery. The amount of pain will vary depending upon the surgeon and the patient. Talk w/your doctor and get your questions answered before surgery.

See below: You will be sedated or asleep for the surgery. The surgeon will use local anesthesia to give you a long lasting block after the operation. Yes there will be some discomfort when the block wears off, but it is manageable.
