i have severe pain in my chest everytime i cough.. and whenever i get the flu.. the cough always takes time too long to get better.. is this normal?

Cold: Cough can cause chest pain due to muscular shaky motions it produces. Some colds tend to linger. Of all cold symptoms, the most lingering is cough. Tobacco use only makes it worse.
