i get moderate/severe chestpains when i lie of my left side for any length of time. im 16, could it be pericarditis? should i see my doctor?

Yes: It sounds like you have a condition caused by inflammation. It could be pericarditis, or pleurisy or something else. I think a doc would need to do a thorough history and physical exam to sort this out. It is not "normal." hope this helps and good luck.
