being given lyrica (pregabalin) for severe anxiety and some depression. is this considered the best drug for both anx+depre? i feel i'm on the wrong drug!

Yes are: Lyrica (pregabalin) is not a good choice for anxiety and depression. It is used to treat fibromyalgia and neurologic pain.

D/W prescriber: I am not sure why Lyrica (pregabalin) was selected. Do you have fibromyalgia/ neuropathic pain? It is an anticonvulsant that is also used for pain control. In europe it also has an indication for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (but not in the us at this time). If the only conditions it is being used for are anxiety/ depression - then it would off label use and quite far from first line. D/w the.
