Fatty liver vs. fat: Fatty liver is not the same as having tummy fat. Fat cells replaced liver ells that died from alcohol toxicity. The fat cells just take up space. Congratulations on giving up alcohol. Getting out of the trap of addiction takes courage and strength. Now you are turning that strength toward a healthy lifestyle. That's great. To lose weight, avoid high fat foods, fried foods, starches and sugar.

Also eat lots of veggies and low fat protein like chicken, turkey, fish and soy. Beef and pork are usually fatty. And last but not least, start that exercise program! It's the most difficult to lose weight with any diet plan if you don't also exercise.
