Probably not: 50%-80% of adult in the USA has been exposed to CMV, most people know they were exposed to CMV when a blood test shows that they have antibody against the virus, the virus remained dormant and cause no problems unless the person become immunosupressed ( HIV, transplant patients, chemotherapy patient etc...) then diseases such retinitis, esophagitis etc... can develop.
