i get sharp pains on left side under ribcage every so often, help?

Muscle Strain : There is not much in that area. You could have a muscle strain. Salso you could have a irritated skin nerve from pressure or trauma. Occasionally, people can have a costochondritis that can result in occasional pain with deep breaths.
