can doctors tell me what does the gallbladder do?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Robert Uyeda
44 years experience General Surgery
Function of the gall: Bladder is storage of bile that your liver makes. Bile aids in digestion. Many years ago, when humans ate infrequently in large amounts, the gallbladder would empty to assist in digestion. But because we eat more frequently is smaller amounts, the storage function of the gb is not nearly as important.
