Dysuria: You have what is called dysuria. It is often a sign of infection. You should get a urine culture to evaluate the problem.

Many possibilities.: The most common would be a urinary tract infection. Urethritis or some other pelvic infections can also cause this. Some patients with irritation on the vulva can also report this symptom. The vulvar irritation could be from a yeast infection, herpes, or allergic reactions. A chronic inflammation of the bladder called interstitial cystitis can be the cause of persistent or hard to treat symptoms.

UTI: Urinary tract infection is the most likely diagnosis. Have a urine culture and sensitivity done on your urine before taking any antibiotics though.
