A 18-year-old female asked:
Are symptoms for a UTI and a yeast infection similar?

Dr. John Leander Po answered

Not really: Burning on urination, increased frequency, delayed starting/ stopping urination, suprapubic / flank discomfort are symptoms of a uti. Yeast infections are highlighted by signs of redness and symptoms of intense itching and sometimes, the presence of whitish curdly material in the warm/ moist areas in and around the genitals.
