my 8 m o baby girl doesn't like solid food and i don't force feed. could it be that she is teething coz off late the problem has become acute?

Try small amounts: Try small amounts and offer solid foods before giving your baby liquids. A serving size at this age is one tablespoon. Often it can take 15 times before a baby will enjoy a food. If she is teething you can offer teething foods such as a zwieback cracker. Babies at this age are experimenting with food, messy is okay.

Texture: Some children are texture sensitive especially during the time they are teething. As long as her diet is well balanced, it should not be a major concern- if find that she does not change her tendency after several of her teeth have erupted including her primary 1st molars and canines, consult with her pediatrician for a specialist in this arena.

Yes: She is within the age range for teething. I wouldnt force feed her becuase that will cause more harm than good. As long as your child is getting adeqate nutrition (appropriate number of wet diapers etc...) i wouldnt be concerned. If her feeding habits have dropped significantly it may be worth having her see her md.
