Routine surgery: Sure you will be ok, ultimately it is just getting out a few teeth and happens to almost everyone in their lifetime. The extraction of wisdom teeth will usually hurt for 2-3 days depending on the position of your teeth (above the gums or under them). Your surgeon will give you some medicine for pain and home care instructions; following them will give you the best chance for an uneventful recovery.

Yes: Yes. Make sure you see a board certified oral surgeon. Your age makes removal of wisdom teeth a bit more complicated. But this is a routine procedure for an oral surgeon.
