what to do if i have a terrible migrain what do i do?

Headache specialist: The answer depends on whether this is a new headache, which requires evaluation, or do you have a chronic history of migraine; and is this your typical headache? There are several prescription medications that are very effective in eliminating headache. Over the counter treatments are less effective, but some get relief with caffeine, tylenol (acetaminophen) and Aspirin (excedrin migraine).
