i banged my elbow hard the other day and my pinky has been pretty numb since then with no improvement. what to do?

Ulnar neuropathy: Sounds like you injured the ulnar nerve (which innervates the pinky). It should get better over the next few days to weeks. If it persists, you might start with an x-ray of the elbow to rule out a fracture.
