Varies - Often None: High blood pressure or hypertension is without symptoms in the majority of patients. One may have dull headaches, shortness of breath, dizzy spells, or more occasional nose bleeds. The major casualty of hypertension results from the longstanding effects of hypertension on the heart, blood vessels, and kidneys, this more likely when blood pressure is very uncontrolled (>180/120 vs 135/85).
