It can happen: Although uncommon in younger folks, such cancers can occur at any age. The age does not alter the prognosis which is more dependent on the histologic type and the grade of the tumor. High grade tumors are more dangerous and have a greater risk to recur or spread as metastases.

Parotid cancer : Cancer can occur at any age. Cancer of the parotid gland is possible in both young and old people. I have treated 7 year olds with parotid cancer. There are different kinds of cancer of the parotid and some are more easily treated than others (some need more than just surgery, like radiation). You should ask your ENT to explain to you what is going on and what are the options for treatment.
