No proof: I do not think that there is any proven answer to this question. But too much caffeine can affect blood pressure, heartrate etc. For you and the baby. Beware and cut back.

Possibly: Small amounts of caffeine taken in the morning are probably not harmful. But if a baby does not get adequate sleep due to excessive caffeine in the breast milk, the lack of sleep can certainly affect their intellectual development.
