For what reasons might a doctor order an abdominal ultrasound after seeing a transvaginal ultrasound?

Guesses: I could guess many things, such as partial visualization of a structure, vascular engorgement (pelvic congestion) that may be caused by compression of proximal vessels, or a negative pelvic ultrasound that was done for symptoms that can be caused by abdominal structures. But it would be best answered by the ordering physician.
