Not directly: These sores are probably a result of your infection and weakened immune system. It is viral in nature. It will run its course for 7-10 more days. Treat the sores with an oral analgesics and topically with numbing gel or mouthrinse. If not resolved in two weeks call your dentist.

Not necessarly: Could be your immune system is weakened and you have a secondary infection.

Virus: Some viruses may cause both symptoms. Throw away the tobacco if you care at all about yourself. If symptoms persist longer than 1-2 weeks see your dr. No vitamin, herb, or antibiotic is indicated.
