See a periodontist: Make sure your gums are at an early stage of inflammation. Have them remove any calculus or tartar that may be irritating the gums then you must brush properly and use dental floss as your toothbrush doesn't clean between the teeth where the problems usually start.

See a dentist: Start with the dentist to see if you need care. If you need more than basic care, you may need a periodontist.

Get teeth cleaning: You need to clean the gums and the surfaces of the teeth to remove the inflammatory particles that are irritating the gums. Brushing 3 times a day, flossing daily and rinsing with warm salt water or listerine will help get you back on the road to healthy gums. You should also schedule to see a dentist to get your teeth professionally cleaned.
