Gout seems unlikely?: Gout is unusual in women before menopause, and that diagnosis is even less likely since both feet are painful. Sodium restriction doesn't seem to be helping. You need to consider other painful conditions such as osteoarthritis.

Gout can be any age: Gout is an inherited metabolic disease it can occur at any age but is more common in men and adults. If you suspect gout, there is a simple blood and urine test that can make the diagnosis. See your doctor. Your symptoms could be caused by other conditions as well. See http://www.Niams.Nih.Gov/health_info/gout/#cause.

Blood and urine testing never confirms the diagnosis of gout. Gout is confirmed by the presence of urate crystals in synovial fluid.

Not gout: Gout is incredibly rare in a premenopausal female. Unless there is intense redness, swelling and tenderness, it is not gout. Even if these are present gout is still unlikely. See a rheumatologist.

Gout: You are youngish but not too old for gout. I would recommend some bloodwork to r/o gout and some types of arthritis cbc, uric acid, crp, sed rate, RA latex etc ( note this is advice only. You must contact your primary care physician or podiatrist for an examination).
