Hepatitis B: No. Your doctor is giving you medicine to stop the hepatitis from staying active. The medication suppresses the viruses ability to reproduce. It is not a cure but the closest thing to it. Once you start this medication, however, you must always take it. This is very good treatment and your doctor is working to save your life.
