why i get itchy hives after drinking certain alcoholic beverages i.e. beer, some red wine etc but ok with others?

Allergy: Your hives may be due to an allergy to something in those beverages that make you break out, best to avoid them.

Tough question : Because wine & beer don't share common ingredients other than alcohol & you tolerate other alcoholic beverages. You might have 2 allergies - hops & something else in wine. Try michelob - supposedly made with rice hops. Is there a pattern to your wine hives - grape variety, region of origin, etc. Or be the designated driver. You may not be the life of the party but you will help save lives.
