Lactose intollerance: Lactose intolerance causes gas, distension and loose stools. When treated with lf formula your baby should be happy, have much less gas and distension. The stools may still be loose and soft from time to time based on what he also eats. You should be on lf formula not cow milk until he is 1 year old.

Milk Allergy: If you child is allergic to milk it is the protein and not the sugar so you must take him off of all milk. You can use a hypoallergenic formula until he is at least 1 year old (nutramigen, alimentum, etc) or soy formula if he tolerates it. Cowsmilk before 1 year is dangerous and can trigger diabetes, eczema, and other problems. Talk to your pediatrician for suggestions if this does not help.
