A 32-year-old member asked:
how effectively does the b-12 vitamin (dots) work?

B12 and weight?: This a medical fraud committed by many "obesity" centers, whose docs have no training in endocrinology or obesity. B12 has nothing to do with weight loss!

A 39-year-old member asked:
Can you consume too much vitamin/nutrients?

Of course!: Anything that contains calories is a nutrient. Too many calories makes you fat. Beyond that, the answer depends on the specific nutrient. It's easy to consume too much chocolate (for me, anyway), but not so easy to consume too much celery. For vitamins, the answer is also yes, but depends on which. It's much easier to take too much a, e, d, or k (fat soluble) than b or c etc. (water soluble).

A 34-year-old member asked:
Which vitamins should I be careful with if I try orthomolecular medicine?
2 doctor answers • 3 doctors weighed in

Dr. Theodore Cole answered
Specializes in Family Medicine
Depends...: The vitamins to be most cautious of are the fat soluble ones. The most important part of this approach is to work with a doctor who has knowledge and experience in this area. Ask what training they've had and how long they've been doing it. I prefer to do testing before prescribing anything. Having said that, there have been no deaths in the last 10 years from vitamins.
