i have a small hernia in my tummy after giving birth and get really bad pains now and then...will i need surgery to remove it? i wanna have more kids?

Belly button?: If you have an umbilical hernia (belly button) this is not uncommon after pregnancy. If you are having symptoms (pain) then you should have it repaired. The repair is usually an outpatient procedure and you should be able to go home the same day. Once you are well healed you can have as many more babies as you want.

Probably: Any hernia is capable of incarcerating(getting stuck) then going on to infarcting(dying). For these reason you should see a general surgeon and see if your pains are related to the hernia. Even so, probably shold consider having surgery.

More info: If the pain is around the hernia repair site, it could be a recurrent hernia. Best to see your surgeon for a follow up exam. Hope this helps!
