what's a simple, cheap treatment for my ear swelling?

Ice: In general, ice is good, simple and cheap treatment for swelling. However, there could be a lot of things causing swelling in and around your ear, some simple (pimples), others serious (mastoiditis). You should really get it checked out by a doc.

Depends: Swelling of the ear can be caused by many different things including an infection which may require antibiotics, allergies and allergic reactions... You probably should have it checked out by your physician.
