what causes mucus and blood in stool in toddler?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Natalie Geary
29 years experience Pediatrics
Multiple: Many times if the child is constipated there will be a bit of blood from an anal fissure ( cut) . Sometimes it may mean some viral infection. Sometimes it may mean a food intolerance/allergy. Please see your pediatrician, and bring a stool sample.
