Sports!: I am going to assume that the person wants to be physically active doing something that he enjoys. Choosing to stay in good physical shape will make it easier to do well during aggressive cancer treatment and to survive possible intercurrant illnesses. It won't be the key to preventing cancer progression, but even if there's no cure, it will fill what's left of life with something good.

If you are seriously thrombocytopenic from your cancer or treatment, you probably don't want to do contact / impact sports.
