chesty cough, blocked noise, hurts where my ribs r when i cough and my back.aches and pains, my neck.think my gland r swollen, but throat not sore. flu?

Probably viral: Sounds like upper respiratory infection or flu caused by virus. Coughing hard can elicit soreness in ribs. Sometimes pleuritis, inflammation of lining of lungs can mimic rib pain. If symptoms get worse and difficulty with high fever and change in severity of symptoms, should contact your physician. Sometimes superimposed bacterial infection can occur.Smoking will worsen cough.
