There can be infection in the bone, or some sort of bone cancer or muscle tumor. Autoimmune disorders causing arthritis can affect the arms and legs. Blockages in blood vessels or lymphatic channels can cause swelling and poor circulation in a leg. A doctor can examine such a leg and run tests.

The shot may not: Have anything to do with the limp.When did it start, how bad is it, did you have a fall or trauma or bump into something that you just dismissed or treated for an infection viral illness recently?Please have yourself checked out if if persisted.

Bruise?: Could this be a bruise? Sounds irritated if it has red around the edges---Was there anything there initially, like a birthmark or an irritation or was there a bug bite that may have bled into itself from scratching? If it persists for few more days, should be seen by your physician or dermatologist.
