Clarify testing done: You may want to clarify with your doctor to see if a pap smear test was actually done. A speculum exam is performed in order to do a pap smear, but also to evaluate vaginal discharge. Some people are confused and assume that pap smear was performed, when really only the discharge was evaluated. Remember, the pap smear is a screening test for cervical cancer.
