Involves many organs: Churg-strauss syndrome is an autoimmune disorder that affects small blood vessels and (by definition) includes asthma that is often difficult to control. It commonly affects the vessels of the skin, kidneys, and nervous system among others. It is treated with steroids and usually a drug called cyclophosphamide.

Steroids and more: Cyclophosphamide is the most well proven agent for churg-strauss syndrome, in combination with prednisone. The combo usually used to induce a remission, followed by long term therapy to prevent a recurrence. Many drugs have been used to maintain of remission, too many to list here. But they all have in common some degree of immune suppression, and often used with drugs to prevent infection.
