could you tell me what happens when you forget to inject insulin for a person with type one diabetes?

Dr. Milton Alvis, jr

↑Glucose, DKA;Death: By definition, people with Type 1 (<5%) are not able to produce enough Insulin to stay alive, typically 35-45 units/24 hrs. Without enough internal insulin+amylin production, glucose ↑es & slowly slide into diabetic ketoacidosis; end up dying in weeks. Thus, insulin, discovered in 1928, was a huge advance. Yet, most people taking Insulin are Type 2, a bad treatment option vs. ↓↓carb+GlP1+SGLT2.
