A 35-year-old member asked:

What are the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and how do i decipher them from ordinary problems?

With difficulty: Sadly, there is no screening for ovarian cancer and by the time it causes symptoms, it is usually advanced. Abdominal swelling, pain, or shortness of breath can happen. You are young and ovarian cancer is not very common but i would advise you get regular gyn exams and describe any symptom to your doc. Make sure he/she knows if there is breast or ovarian cancer history in your family.

See below: There is probably not a good answer. Ovarian cancer does not have specific symptoms and causes vague abdominal symptoms that are similar to GI symptoms. See this site for more info about ovarian cancer. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/pmh0001891/.
